Matthew joined Gillard Family Lawyers at the commencement of 2024. Matthew previously held the prestigious role as an Associate to a Judge of the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia (Division 1) for 2 years. Through his role as an Associate, Matthew gained valuable knowledge of the court process, and this serves as a great benefit to his clients.
Matthew understands that separation often marks one of the most difficult and stressful periods of a client’s life. Matthew aims to provide clients with clear, realistic, and practical advice that will assist them to navigate their family law dispute. Matthew regularly attends mediations and court. He negotiates outstanding outcomes for his clients and understands the stress of litigation and the cost of it.
Prior to commencing his career in family law Matthew worked in the motor vehicle insurance sector for 10 years.
Matthew is a member of the New South Wales Law Society and Hunter Valley Family Law Practitioners Association. Matthew graduated with a Bachelor of Laws from Charles Sturt University in 2022, was admitted as a lawyer in NSW in 2023, and was entered in the High Court Register of Practitioners in 2024.
