Gaye Archer

Gaye has almost 20 years legal experience working in family law at the Federal Circuit and Family Court at Newcastle.
Gaye began her legal career in 2002 working as a Client Service Officer at the Federal Circuit Court before transitioning into the role of a Judge’s Associate in 2011 and she continued in this astute role until she commenced private practice at Gillard Family Lawyers in 2021.
Gaye’s exposure to Family Court cases is undoubtable due to the fact that she was present and observed family law court hearings first hand for 9 years.
She understands the stressors that are associated with going through a family law matter and aims to assist clients reach a resolution or settlement as quickly as is possible. She strongly believes in trying to achieve the best outcomes for clients through mediation or negotiations. However, she is well versed in what it takes to get the best outcome for you, should your matter proceed to court.
Gaye has a strong understanding of the family law system and local legal community, having become well known with a wide range of solicitors and barristers over her time working at the Court.
Gaye is also appointed on the Legal Aid NSW panel, a member of the NSW Law Society, Hunter Valley Family Law Practitioner’s Association and Family Law Section.
